things the clintons could have spent their money on instead

i dont know about you, but i am outraged reading some of the reported costs of the clinton nuptials that are surfacing this weekend.  from what i have read, the bill for wedding, whose details are being kept a secret, are chaching-ing in at anywhere from $2 to $5 MILLION.

people, we are a country at war, this month was the deadliest month in afghanistan to date with over 60 soldiers dead.  what is more, our country is still facing a slumped economy that many families are finding to be life altering.  i guess some might argue that the clintons are single-handedly supporting the economy by procuring porcelain port-o-potties for their guest list of somewhere between 400 to 500 people. in case you are in the market, porcelain port-o-potties will run you about $15K for your upcoming nuptials.

i get that the clintons have more money than god and clearly have no idea how to spend it judiciously. but here is a recommendation for the clintons, what if you only spent $1 million dollars on the wedding?! hey, i will even be generous and say spend $1.2 million, granting that extra $200,000 for security because i get that its expensive and totally necessary. not that they asked how i think they should spend their money, and i am clear on the fact that it is their money, but here are a few suggestions for the clintons to spend that extra $1-4 million dollars:

  • cover the cost for anywhere from 100-400 students to attend public school for 1 year, allowing schools to free up funds to increase necessary items like physical education or music and arts programs (based on census data)
  • cover 8-33% of the cost of the BP oil spill clean up for one day.
  • cover the cost for habitat for humanity to build anywhere from 200-800 homes in any one of 23 countries, including bolivia, nepal, guatemala, india, or mexico.
  • cover the cost of 50-200 lower limb/above the knee prostheses for children suffering from cancer.
  • cover the cost to host 33-132 families in a ronald mcdonald house for one year.

just a few ideas.  but i understand, it was totally necessary to have a $11,000 gluten free wedding cake.  i mean with 500 guests, odds are at least one of them has gluten allergies and we wouldnt want them praising the porcelain god headfirst now would we?

I’m just glad they’re spending money on something besides Hillary’s pant suits for once!

To be honest, I dislike the Clintons as much as everyone else, but I don’t have a problem with it. It’s their money, so they can spend it however they want as far as I’m concerned.

I know you disagree, but I’ve never encountered a disagreement that couldn’t be settled over back rubs! I’ll bring the medicated lotion (it smells like lavender!)
